floral explosion

Belt - ASOS
Bag - Zara
Heels - Kurt Geiger

Yesterday was such an exciting day. I was through in Aberdeen to celebrate my gorgeous man’s second graduation, & he’s now fully qualified to be the amazing lawyer he’s going to be! As RGU Alumni myself, I appreciated it all the more, and if anything it meant I understood the in-jokes cracked during the speeches. Always, always useful.

The weather wasn’t always on our side, and once the rain began, I started to think I’d made an overly brave outfit choice. But the sun shone later and all was glorious, so didn’t regret my high heels, bright florals or sleeveless dress one bit! The joys/ troubles of Scottish living...

Despite today definitely not being about me, but my gorgeous man... I bring to you the shallow details of what I was wearing today - as I really really love this outfit, and hope you do too!
These were shot on my iPhone 5s today instead of my usual Nikon D3000, no room for the big camera in that pretty Zara handbag of mine!

When on the online prowl for an outfit for the graduation, I was on the look for an outfit that was reasonably priced, with a unique design or print. Not an easy challenge!

But I came across One Nation Clothing on the ASOS Marketplace, and instantly fell in love with this watercolour floral designed dress. For you braver ladies out there - it is available in a front keyhole style, but a skater style is more my thing. I have never seen a dress with this design before, and even better I’ve never seen anyone wearing this before; so I think I’m onto a winner. For £45 too, which I think is a great price point. There are lots of things on One Nation Clothing’s site that I really like, so I’m really happy that I’ve stumbled across this brand & that I can share my find with you all.

I love the exploded, enlarged floral poppy design, and it’s wonderful bright colours. So eye-catching, different & incredibly pretty. To cinch it in a little more at the waist, I wore my ASOS mirror belt - which has literally been glued onto me ever since my holiday to Tunisia. Simple, sleek & oh so stylish. It just adds a little extra something, and meant that jewellery wasn’t necessary.

My lovely bag was my birthday gift from the man of the day, and I’m careful only to take this out on nicer occasions, I want to keep it all nice & pristine. Light blue is such a stunning colour, and is a key colour trend for SS15. As a girl who loves a huge bag, this surprisingly fits loads inside, which keeps the hoarder in me very very happy! And really, who could dislike anything designed to give a nod to the iconic Celine Trapeze?!

I would love to know what your thoughts are on this outfit, I’m already trying to think of a reason to wear it out again!

  2. What a lovely dress, I love skater style dresses as I find them really flattering, the poppy design is gorgeous too. You really scored with the weather that day as there has only been a couple of sunny days (normally when I'm working!) up here. Hope you both had a lovely day :) xx

    1. Thank you for your lovely comment :) I always find myself going for a skater dress, so flattering & hassle free! It was absolutely pouring with rain when we headed into the theatre, but then we got this glorious sunshine afterwards (a lovely change!) Why does our weather here have to be so changeable? But yes, we had a wonderful day - thank you :) xxx
