So here's my first blog proper blog post on this blog rather than the tumblr, and this is one of my newest purchases - Hedonist, one of the new nail varnishes from the Models Own x Hed Kandi Collaboration which is definitely a stand out colour for Summer! This unique neon coral shade is not one to wear if you don't want your nails to be noticed! I put on one coat and my Dad asked me if I was going out in the dark they were that bright... But for those who are scared to commit too much to this summer's neon trends, nail varnish is a cheaper, easier to wear way to experiment with the trend,
This is me wearing it with two coats, although one coat is enough to cover the nail and give an extremely pigmented and bold colour, just as it looks in bottle. Two coats makes sure that any nail imperfections are covered with a thick enough coat, and the consistency is quite good as it's not too thin (unlike Balearic Cool, but that's another post...) and dries relatively quickly. I definitely recommend two coats for an even finish though. The finish that you get from this nail varnish is almost matte, almost more a vinyl style finish -so you're getting two trends in one with this polish, the bright summer neon colour paired with the matte trend. In the final two pictures, I've alternately applied a top coat to create the shine, and Topshop Matte Nail Varnish just for you to see the difference and the effect that you can create - totally different, and totally down to your own personal preference on the finish you prefer it with, I can't quite decide although I do really love it with the a normal Rimmel High Shine Topcoat for a glossy finish.
This cost me £5 from Boots, though I got is as part of Boots' current 2 for £8 offer ( I also bought 'Balearic Cool', another polish from the Hed Kandi collaboration - and this will be another blog post for you to look forward too!)
