SPRING NAILS

I'm so glad that the weather is finally taking a turn for the better. Within the last week in Scotland, we've had snow, sunshine and 19 degree heat in the matter of a few days.

Just like the unpredictable nature of Scottish weather is nothing new, neither are these nail polishes. Yes, you read right - I would consider very few of these to be "recent purchases" as I wanted to curate a Spring polish edit from the array of beautiful colours I already have sitting in my cupboard.

Maybe it's too predictable to have chosen very light, pastel tones for this post - but there are the colours I keep turning to this season, so how could I not include them?!

Let's just take a minute, or five, to admire these lovely spring appropriate colours....

(L-R) OPI 'Don't Bossa Nova Me Around', Chanel 'Atmospherè', YSL 'Rose Scabiosa', Ciate 'Pillow Fight', Topshop 'Boy Next Door' & L'Oreal '104 Beige Countess'

Let me give you a quick run-down of each shade...

OPI 'Don't Bossa Nova Me Around' is the most perfect pink toned, pale nude from OPI's Brazil Collection. My go-to when I want something neutral to go with everything. I wasn't a happy girl when my OPI 'My Vampire is Buff' all glooped up, but this very quickly took its place!

Chanel Atmospherè is a nude, semi-sheer iridescent pearl which is a pale pink/purple & golden duo chrome. Beautiful and sheer on its own for a subtle shimmer, or layer ontop of either a pale, or dark, polish for equally breathtaking results.

YSL Rose Scabiosa I am really not a pink nail polish girl, but ever since I opened this little gift with my YSL purchases in Selfridges, I've had a soft spot for this one. I would describe this as a blue toned pink, which works well for all you girls who, like myself, are pale skinned. Great formula and a fabulous wide brush makes application a dream! Perfect for Spring -  and the perfect pick me up for my nails for the next few days!

Ciate 'Pillow Fight' I had been in search of a lovely grey tone, as I'd seen so many amazing grey nails - and then I spotted this in Boots and it had to be mine. PF is such a sweet looking colour with a fabulous high-shine finish, so Ciate describe this 'Innocent looking with an edge'. I think I can get on board with that!

Topshop 'Boy Next Door' This is an oldie, but a goodie - and costing a mere £5, it's a steal too! This is a perfect, outfit brightening 'Tiffany blue'. Sporting a colour like this, you just can't be sad! Especially when it's time to move away from the classic nude's and pinks of the season...

L'Oreal '104 Beige Countess' Imagine your favourite 'My Lips But Better' lipstick, and then imagine it in nail varnish form. This is what you are imagining! Barely there, but is actually there just enough to perfect your look when you're in the mood or something pared down and with a professional feel.

Although this isn't an in-depth review for these polishes (see my links for those which do have my reviews), sometimes the photo's just do all the talking!
Sometimes it's good just to take a step back, and have a good rummage around your makeup collections to uncover many beautiful things.

Which of the above is/are your favourite? Tonight, mine's the YSL - so time to give my bare nails a little brightening up!
