Floral Print Dress - Oasis
Ombre Glitter Flats - Zara
Cream Leather Jacket - New York & Company
Rings (just seen) - Monica Vinader (Citrine & Labradorite) & Vintage Gold Band
It's officially Spring, and if only the weather would co-operate with this, it's time for our outfit choices to reflect the change of season.
To me, Spring ideally means lighter fabrics, lighter colours & pastel hues - and in homage to these Spring feelings, cue my latest look which inspired me to capture something representing this beautiful new season.
To my surprise, the pieces which jumped out of my wardrobe were oldies, but goodies. My floral Oasis dress is a piece I purchased two summers ago, which I wore to celebrate my 21st Birthday. (How time flies, and I'm now almost 23!)
Although it's not easily seen in my photo's above (but those below, much better) this dress is made from an unexpectedly thick fabric with a slight quilted design to it - giving a finish that's unique, figure flattering & holds its silhouette perfectly. I find the skirt pleats sit so well, without being too overdone - giving just the right amount of structure for this skater style. Subtlety for spring is where its at! This fits me like a glove, even if the zip is a bit dodgy at times!
Silver & Gold Ombre Flats - Zara
To combat the predictable, floral girliness of my spring outfit, I paired it with my cream leather jacket from New York & Company. This was a purchase from a holiday in Houston, TX many many years ago - and I haven't worn it nearly as much as I should have. I tend to go through phases with this garment, but I do love it paired with this dress. The cream colour is perfect for the season, and great as my personal style doesn't quite fit a black leather style!
It's difficult to see, but I chose my Zara glitter pointed flats to compliment the beaded neckline of my dress. It's subtly is so complimentary, and although I could still pair this with a little necklace - for this look I chose to go jewellery free. No jewellery is unusual for me, but then, does this print really need another statement on top of it? Probably not, but I'm willing to experiment.
As these shoes are still pretty new to my collection, with the warmer weather now approaching I'm starting to wear them out & about to break them in, just in time for summer. I also have the other pair, which is the blue ombre glitter - equally as beautiful. I'm looking forward to wearing these both loads over spring & summer, and finding new ways to style them both up!
I would love to know what you think of this look! And what does Spring dressing mean to you? Here's hoping we can all start to enjoy the lighter, brighter weather - especially with the clocks springing forward this weekend.
Wow, this is such a pretty look! I love the dress, the color of this jacket and these gorgeous flats. Just perfect!
