The Little Mermaid

They all say there's nothing like the regret of something you didn't buy. Or for me, the regret of the one thing you didn't buy, which sold out to then re-find it months later - only for it to be a size 6 I couldn't fit into. Sighhhh. I'm sure you know the feeling, girls.
But alas! This regret has been put to rest today, as I re-found the beautiful skirt that got away, and it is available in my size. Hoorah! And to make things even better, it's on ale & I have a gift card from Christmas that I can pay with it for. I think I've scored.

The beauty in question is the gorgeous teal Sequin skirt from H&M, which has looked amazing on many bloggers as of late. With such a striking, sea green shimmer - I can't help but think of one of my favourite Disney's, The Little Mermaid,  every time I see it. It's very eye-catching, and very stylish.

But with sequins can come a bit of stage fright, it demands attention and no-one can escape it's beautiful glisten. So, how am I going to work it's way into my wardrobe?
To help me figure out "How exactly am I going to wear this?!" I've come up with three different outfits which I would love to share with you, and hopefully give you all some inspiration for the same/similar items you make have lurking around those gorgeous wardrobes of yours!

All black e'vrythannnng.

With these black and gold accessories, I've let the skirt do all the talking. I've become such a lover of black lately, and I know I need to be a bit more adventurous with spring around the corner. But, sometimes there's nothing classier than black, with some shimmer and beautiful touches of gold. I mean, how amazing are those earrings & THAT Celinè.

I seem to have a bit of an issue with the current 70's trends that have been flying down every single catwalk the last couple weeks, but in homage to it - i've included a lovely fringed leather jacket. Fringe, I can deal with - infact, I really love. A fringed black bag is definitely on my wishlist!

The background floral design reminds me of my new Aura & Aura phone case, don't you think! It makes me so ready for spring.

For this look, I wanted to liven things up a lot more - moving away from solid back, this bright yellow coat I fell immediately in love with. A difficult colour to pull off, but when it's right - it's so very right! The stripes add a wonderful parisian feel, but for us Scots it's the changeable weather which determines out outfit choices - so I think a striped jumper like this is a perfect pairing. I love to also stay warm, but fashionable, I don't deal well with being either one, cold or two, hungry.
Adding a long necklace and simple shoes maintain the element of stylish comfort, and makes such an easy outfit which you can just chuck on in the morning for a day at the office.

So far, I haven't included two key favourites of mine: the statement necklace and the heeled black boot. Such all year round, versatile pieces which can instantly change your look.
Pairing with white, I wanted to give this outfit a much fresher look - pairing with pastel tones to contrast the teal, and stay on trend for SS15.

A stunning wrap coat has been on my wish list for months, and I've yet to get round to purchasing one. But the colour and shape of this Reiss beauty, is just WOW.
To me this seems like something just right for afternoon tea, or evening drinks, with my girls. And I think they would definitely approve of this.

What do you think of the outfits I've put together, & let me know which is you favourite in the comments below!

Much love,
